The Bemrose Bursary Recital Scheme was set up in memory of Sir Max Bemrose, a former President of Music at Duffield. Each year we ask the Royal Northern College of Music, one of the world’s leading music conservatoires, to choose one or more of their most talented students to give a recital for Music at Duffield. For over 20 years we have had some wonderful concerts and seen performers go on to build national and international careers. This year we welcome Maya Irgalina who, while studying at the Royal Northern College of Music, has won the Ryzhard Bakst Memorial Chopin's Prize. She also became a prize-winner of the Dudley International Piano Competition, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto K595 with City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michael Seal.
Sponsored by the Bemrose Bursary Trust.
The artist appears by kind permission of the Principal of the Royal Northern College of Music.
To be finalised but likely to include Rachmaninov's Corelli Variations and Schubert-Lizst Song Transcriptions.
