Music at Duffield

James Lisney

Saturday 17 March 2012

James Lisney was the first winner of the Bemrose Bursary Recital award in 1989. He has since gone on to have a very successful career as a concert pianist. He has gained a reputation for the playing of the music of Schubert and ends his recital with a performance of the great Sonata in A. But there is much to enjoy before that with wonderful works by Mendelssohn, Debussy and Chopin.

Mendelssohn            Songs without words

Debussy                     Estampes

Chopin                       Andante spianato et grande polonaise brilliante

Schubert                    Piano Sonata in A, D959
