James Lisney was the first winner of the Bemrose Bursary Recital award in 1989. He has since gone on to have a very successful career as a concert pianist. He has gained a reputation for the playing of the music of Schubert and ends his recital with a performance of the great Sonata in A. But there is much to enjoy before that with wonderful works by Mendelssohn, Debussy and Chopin.
